Getting Started Tip #2 - Adapt font size
Unless you have the sight of an eagle, you really need to tell Trados Studio 2009 to stop displaying text so small you won't be able to read, and/or text so big a single segment won't fit in the screen!
You can also tell Trados Studio 2009 to adjust the contrast of the text so that you never end up with a very light grey text difficult or impossible to read.
Note that the settings you apply here will only affect the display in Trados Studio 2009. No changes will be made to the source or target texts, either in the document or in the Translation Memory.
Enter menu Tools select Options and under the Editor section, click on Font Adaptation.
Check Adapt font size and enter both minimum and maximum values for both source and target segments.
In the example below, Trados Studio 2009 will display any text with a font size of 14 if the font size of the segment in document being translated is 14 or below. And it will display any text with a font size of 18 if the font size of the segment in document being translated is 18 or above.
Check also Adapt text colors and move the slide bar to the right until the sample text appears dark enough for your eyes.
