Getting Started Tip #3 - Specify Default Languages

English (US) to German translators aren't concerned since it is Trados Studio 2009 default setting. For all the others, to avoid to manually having to change source and target languages when opening a document for translation, you should immediately modify default source and target languages.

Enter menu Tools select Options and under the Editor section, click on Languages.

Check Prompt for document languages... so that compatible files with declared source and target languages will be configured automatically.
Of course, if you work with more than one language combination, you'll have to change source and target languages for each document... But you could build project templates in order to help you: we'll get to that in a future post.
