Getting Started Tip #4 - Show whitespace characters
Since Trados Studio 2009 performs an automated check on unintentional spaces before punctuation and multiple spaces, I find it easier to improve the quality of your output if the whitespace characters are visible. Also, you may want to see the soft returns in a segment so you can take them into account in the target segment.
I strongly recommend you tell Trados Studio 2009 to show whitespace characters by default. In order to do that, enter menu Tools select Options and under the Editor section, check Show whitespace characters.
If you don't feel comfortable with whitespace characters displayed at all times, you can always show/hide whitespace characters at will using the action Show Whitespace Characters of the menu Edit.
We'll see how in a future post how to assign a keyboard shortcut to this specific action and many others.
